It is necessary, for example, that we have a rote memory of basic multiplication. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine if every time you needed to do &#8220;5 x 5&#8221; you had to count on your fingers to get to 25! Really, you&#8217;re going to have to memorize your times tables and other basic pieces of knowledge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, you&#8217;ve just got to repeat it over and over again until you remember!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. It Discourages Listening to Elders<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>One premise of an active approach to learning is that you don&#8217;t trust being &#8220;told&#8221; something &#8211; you have to experience it yourself.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, some conservative education proponents would argue that it is actually important to listen to elders and learn from their mistakes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we just listened more and <a href=\"https:\/\/helpfulprofessor.com\/importance-of-reading-books\/\">read more books<\/a>, we would learn the mistakes of history so we don&#8217;t need to make mistakes through trial-and-error for every little thing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Theoretical Underpinnings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.
