Result<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cAs a result,\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cDue to this,\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cThe result of this\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/helpfulprofessor.com\/transition-words-for-examples\/\">Illustration and examples<\/a><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cFor example,\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cTo illustrate this point,\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cAn illustrative example is\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8. <a href=\"https:\/\/helpfulprofessor.com\/transition-words-for-conclusions\/\">Transitioning to conclusions<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cIn conclusion\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cThis essay has demonstrated\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cGiven the compelling evidence presented in this essay,\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How many are Too many Transition Words?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I generally recommend between 1 and 3 transition words per paragraph, with an average of about 2.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a transition word at the start of each and every sentence, the technique becomes repetitive and loses its value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While you should use a transition whenever you feel it is necessary and natural, it\u2019s worth checking if you\u2019ve over-used certain words and phrases throughout your essay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I\u2019ve found the best way to see if your writing has started to sound unnatural is to read it out loud to yourself.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this process, consider:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Removing some Transition Words: <\/strong>If you identify a paragraph that has a transition word at the beginning of every single sentence, remove a few so you have one at the start of the paragraph and one in the middle of the paragraph &#8211; that\u2019s all.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Removing Overused Words: <\/strong>People tend to get a single word stuck in their head and they use it over and over again. If you identify overuse of a single word, it\u2019s best to change it up.
